We are a New Zealand residential summer Singing School with national and international tutors providing tuition for students at all levels to improve performance ability in Opera, Oratorio, Lieder, Musical Theatre, Art and Popular Song, and Stage Craft.

The next school will be 2 - 11 January, 2009 inclusive.

This is an opportunity to discover your potential. This is a School where all facets of the Performing Arts are taught in depth. The Trust is confident that every student will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge, self assurance, and many skills that can be drawn on in their future singing careers. Over the years the School has grown from strength to strength, attracting both professional and amateur singers from all parts of New Zealand and overseas.

The NZ National Singing School is the only residential singing school in the southern hemisphere that caters for students at all levels and includes the full spectrum of vocal performance.

It is the aim and commitment of the Trustees that students will leave the School more proficient in vocal technique and performance skills.

The NZ National Singing School

• is designed for professional and serious amateur singers
• has nationally and internationally recognised tutors and accompanists
• awards a wide range of prizes and scholarships at conclusion of the School
• covers a wide range of singing styles
• is an environment conducive to learning professional skills
• provides intensive language tuition in Italian, German and French, based on a knowledge of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)

Prerequisites

• reasonable music literacy
• previous voice tuition
• all music prepared and memorised to performance standard
• DVD audition to be received by the Administrator by 15 September 2008
